Zernebog, or Zern as he prefers to be called, is descended from a long line of black dragons in service to the goddess Althena from the Silver Star. Unfortunately, many of his ancestors were less-than-agreeable, and because of that, black dragons have earned a bad reputation which he seeks to fix.

Energetic and eager to prove that stereotypes are meant to be broken, Zern has gotten it in his head that he's some sort of hero, seeking to solve anyone and everyone's troubles... and this often gets him in over his head. His actions and his kindness are earnest, however.

Zern is good friends with a blue dragon named Lir.
