Sometimes the paint behaves perfectly even when the paper's acting as though nothing is ever going to work ever. In this case, a palate knife for work in oils got applied to cheap watercolor paper with a bit of screen ink on it. Base pigment was coffee, bright pigments were cheap watercolor paints and some very not-so-cheap vermillion from a tube.
