I wish I was less surprised to see art of native Hawaiian birds; there needs to be more of this. Is this real media?

I was kind of surprised to find out about this bird for the Losing Altitude project, actually. There are so many interesting birds all over the globe that are endangered, and most people (myself included) only know of a tiny fraction of them.
Yep! This is acrylics on canvas.

Yeah, I did a few school reports on them back when I was in grade school; I've always been really into birds and there's so many of Hawaii's that are frighteningly endangered or simply gone forever. :/ I was lucky enough to at least see a few in the wild since some of my family lived on the outer islands (Oahu being the most populated, the chances of seeing native wildlife are nearly zero).

Would this happen to be for sale? Or would you paint another like it? I'd love to see what you'd do with an i'iwi or an o'o in this style.

Ahh, I wish I had known more about a lot of species of birds and other animals before they went extinct... the rate of extinction in with so many animals seems to be going up, and it's distressing to see! I'm glad that you got to see these rare little birds, and hopefully in the future they become less endangered!

I actually do still have the original copy! I never really thought that anyone would wish to purchase it, and I never thought up a price, so you can name the price if you would like to. I'd really be happy to send it off to someone who appreciates it!

Yeah, at least the nene goose seems to be doing alright. Weirdly was a shock to see one at Sea World, of all places...went down to San Diego with friends for Comic-Con one year and on a whim we went to Sea World...and I walked past a display of various waterfowl and among the flamingos and ducks and whatnot, I did a literal doubletake at a totally familiar nene goose face in a WAY unexpected location. Moreso since they didn't even have an info sign posted for him! (Really he just looks like a small Canada goose with a weird face.)

I will PM you! How big is it?
