I've been feeling pretty blah about my digital skills lately, and in fact have been feeling stuck on the couple of personal projects I have going currently between work. So! Today I dug up this tutorial by Loish, one of my all time fave artists since high school :)

I am SUPER happy with this! Finally something that looks the way I had hoped for. It'll take some practice, but I'll be using this method more and more often for my digital art. This was done in a few hours with my Cintiq and PS CS4 :D
