Its quite the opposite for me, while interesting features of proportions are a fact, I see such a characters or animals existence being an interaction with how they would function or form in our world like. For him he has to dice things up with his claws food wise say...if its a burger or such and then licks up the chucks.
I find personality in how different they are to have form and function and work with it!
