Oh this is really cool! A little different from what you usually do, but still looks great.
Hmm... a critique. I think the gryphon itself looks good, with the subtle shading on the beak and chin- but I'm not too big of a fan of the background. I know the background was probably a last minute addition, so I don't think it's too bad in that sense, but I think that's the thing. It looks a little tacked on, perhaps if you could place your beast within the setting it would work better together.
I also think the feathers on the wing are placed a little incorrectly, but I'd probably have to see the full wing to be the full judge of that. I recommend looking online at pictures of bird wings and similar things if you wanted to fix that.
But overall I think this is a very nice picture and it still rings very true to your style!
