The Dream

Aevery

Maybe you came here willingly. More likely, though, you were tricked by that strange creature. Either way, it ate you, and instead of Heaven, Hell, or even just nothingness, you found yourself here.
The forest is beautiful, peaceful. Yet, if you listen closely, you can hear it call to you. It's in the rustling of the leaves, in the crunch of the grass.
It wants you to give up your soul.

Part 2 here
First of several amazing paintings by LemonDeer, who I cannot recommend enough!
There are two more pieces after this. They're mostly to get to know a detail about my character Aja.
Aja is a spirit of the forest. Ordinarily he's playful and kind, but even a spirit has to eat, you know? He will only eat you if he gets consent, though. If asking up front doesn't work, he'll resort to twisting his words to trick you, or even try to seduce or bargain with you, but he'll never outright lie about it. That would be immoral!
If he manages to trick or convince you, first he'll eat and digest your body, nourishing his body. Then he'll try to get you to give up your soul, to nourish his. You don't have to, of course. You can always just spend an eternity in his forest, but Aja is content to wait as long as he needs to...

I originally intended to have this description as a three part story, one for each painting, but I decided to cut it out and post a more fleshed out story later.
