Axiom Verge Fanarts pt.1.

Zummeng

Note: I know it's nor furry nor anthro art, but I post it anyway because if it's possible I'd upload every of my pictures everywhere.

Unfortunately, there aren't enough drawings of this game, so this must change! I just can't stop loving this game! The music, the style, the characters and especially the mood. In addition, this game was made with so much love and care by only one person, Tom Happ.

And just to say one more reason why I feel the game even more closer to me: I have felt more tired mentally over the past few months, and making fanarts of this game helped me to get my mind off from things. So in a way all the Axiom Verge fanarts I did or I'll do reflect some of my personal feelings, and how I personally imagine all the things in the game.

About how I imagined Trace: I didn't want to draw him as a hero figure, he's just a vulnerable human who tries to move forward and survive in a completely alien world, which left its mark on his soul. There's always a lot of pressure on him, but he still keeps going. I drew him in the spirit of these thoughts.

I gave the drone emotions so he could be able to get attached to his master :D I can imagine many cool things with them. I know it's originally remote-controlled, but in my version Trace really needed a buddy whom he can make interactions with.

The weapon's maybe too big, I don't know. It has been drawn by others in many different sizes :)

More sketches will come soon :)

Interesting! I'm not a gamer, but this would make a good comic. As long as Disney or some other studio doesn't spoil it by making it into a billion-dollar motion picture epic that has nothing to do with the base concept. Big Hero 6 would be a (bad) example.

I've seen a bit of the game but never actually played it for myself. Medroidvanias are a genre that are hard for me to really click with. However what they do so very well is the world and the exploration. Something very, very needed in a time of tired or lethargy. I look forwards to seeing how you interpreted the world and how it might have helped you through a rough last few months! These are already a great start <3
