"Wishes do come true, boy." He whispered it softly as he passed me, something inside me stirred and I couldn't help but turn; questions welled within and I simply had to ask, but he was gone, the sky shifted from an uneasy gray to a suffocating ash, the clouds swirled about and down came the rain, gentle at first but it soon became an unstoppable flood. I turned as I pulled my gaze from the clouds and the ever rising river, and I ran, oh how I ran, the storm seemed lower now, and the more I ran the closer it seemed to get, the tops of buildings were soon enveloped in the ever shifting ashen clouds.
The storm rumbled, and beneath me I felt the Earth tremble, a rushing sound reminded me of the flood I had left behind, and of course as I turn to meet my impossible adversary I am picked up and washed away, higher the waves rise until the streets and structures around me vanish; either by cloud or by water, the world I roamed disappeared just like that. I thought to hold my breath, but something in my core told me it wouldn't be necessary, so I drifted, until the wave roared again it's power picked me up and flung me from the reality I knew, to a strange one a trillion trillion stars away, where yet more clouds eagerly awaited my arrival.

I came crashing into it's new waters with such force that it drove the sea from the clouds, and down I was carried, the clouds receded, the water rushed away until it had only the strength to slither, I was set back down on the street, the people lowering umbrellas as if only just passing from the rain, I caught myself staring at a man I did not recognize; and yet my mind told me I knew him very well, very well indeed. He smiled as he noticed my clueless eyes, and with one hand he gestured to my heart "But you must be ready for where they take you." My mind caught, my eyes focused again and I realized I never went anywhere; and yet I never want to go back.

The man was gone when my eyes lifted to meet his smile, the street light changed and I was finally free to cross.
