In her "pre-queen" state, it takes large amounts of energy for Zethra to lay eggs. Her wing casings fume with heat due to the immense amount of energy it takes her to lay in this state. Without her "wing radiators" she would literally boil inside of her exoskeleton from the superheated blood.
