It's been a while since I painted on a canvas board. I re-gessoed a few boards with paintings from way back in high school earlier in the summer and have been staring at them since. Well I finally figured out what I should do on them and space scenes came to mind. My acrylics aren't the best, but they do the job well for 6 year old student grade paint. Once I start my job, I'll be replacing the broken tubes with Golden Acrylics.
The gas giant isn't any particular planet. Originally I wanted it to be a planet from Solarstorm 1000 but I messed up the colors too much. At least it doesn't resemble Jupiter too much.
I'll be doing similar paintings on the larger boards once I get my wet pallets out again.
Oh and if anyone can answer this question, please do. Why is it that acrylic paint applies better when mixed with another color? I noticed it becomes blotchy and won't apply in even coats when taken directly from the tube, but mixed with another color, it applies absolutely fine.

I don't know why the acrylic paint behaves that way when mixed with another color, but you might try using a translucent acrylic medium to thin it out. Comes in matte and shiny and idk what other kinds.
