Hahaha. This brings up the wonderful question I love to ponder: Because it's a demon, is it inherently bad?
My chosen response is no. I'm one of those people who believes no creature, mythical or real, is inherently evil--it has to consciously choose to commit evil acts.

Then again, I'm somewhat biased; I love playing LuCiel in Elsword (dual character). One of them is a former demon queen who was betrayed by her closest ally... and her chosen form is a (highly amusing to speak to) young teen/girl. She's not evil (far from it), and is fighting to reclaim her throne and save Elrios from the demon invasion.

In most fantasy settings, I like to imagine its based on how they are a demon. The cases where they have to do some evil thing or ritual to become a demon, sure, those guys are definitely the type that are already gone and bad. But the ones born a demon, or simply inherited demonic anything? They have the choice now.

Of course it really REALLY depends on the background and the setting of the story. Biblical ones are pretty much always going to be bad, for example.

With the first case you brought up, however, is it set in concrete or can they ~eventually~ go back to being good? Perhaps they just need a proper motivating force, or something good to fight for.
I just love being philosophical about points like this! It makes my brain light up and think about concepts that are fuzzy and still in the gray areas of human perception.
Now if only I could do the same with Algebra II and English 12... perhaps my life would be easier.
(and my grades a little better.)
