It's more controllable and mote opaque than watercolor.
If you want a loosey-goosey drip-paint-everywhere-and-blend-the-colors type of painting, then watercolor is awesome. If you want to put the color in a certain spot and stay there, then you would probably use gouache. Will it drip or blur? Yes, if you let it :P

I've always wondered HOW it was different than watercolor...is there really much of a difference in using it? :)
