Finally! I have wanted to do this game for over a year, and finally got it started a little over a month ago. I made a simple reference, and had an artist draw the character based on nothing but the image. Then I took that picture, and made a different artist draw her based on only the previous artist's image. That continued for seven different artists to see how the character changed over the course of it.
This was super fun to make, and I hope to try it again in the future. If anyone else wishes to do this themselves, please let me know and I will happily help!

Please please please check out the artist's stuff! They were all happy to participate in this little art game of mine and were all awesome to work with! All the images used in this video are owned by the artists listed below.

I think the subtle changes that ultimately became large ones is more interesting to see. If I had a smaller group of people, then the text description would be a lot more fun though. But I would have to be careful that all the information they need would be there (gotta give the artists a fair chance, afterall)
Thanks for the idea! I might try that with something sometime maybe lol.

I feel like the results might be more spectacular if the rounds alternated between picture and text references, ie someone writes a description which is then handed to the next artist without them having seen the picture. Like that one web game that was popular for a little while.
But, on the other hand, having an image to draw by is easier on the artists. Still interesting to see the variations that evolved from the artist's styles. Neat little experiment.
