T3G - The Last Dance

Guitar - Matt Harris

A silence fell on the dance floor
As ravens cawwed and screamed
A grey-like tone bleached the revel'ry
With sounds darker than they seemed
Madness like a fever
Coursed through the air
The sound still rang like a memory
Yet the band was no longer there

May I have this dance?

Laughs frozen on the faces
of the Duchess and her friends
Like harlequins and jesters
their joke will never end
Red carpets spill out
for the lords of the land
And they dance in the shadows
Like puppets of the band

May I have this dance?

The princess in her glory
sat upon her broken throne
Her face was carved by beauty
That only angels have known
she stared into the party
With her head held in her hands
the light hit her so tragically
as her guests all turned to sand

May I have this dance?

I felt my time was ending
as I turned to face the court
I steal into the darkness
but a remnant of a thought
A love so unrequited
is a fire which must be fed
My heart now sits so hollow
Since I took the great beast's head.

May I have this dance?

Great sound, great vocals, and LOVING the lyrics. Cover art's appealing, too. Hope to hear more in the future!
