Hey y'all! I hope all my southeast folks made it safely through Hurricane Irma! I fled the coast up to the mountains. While I was there I stopped into a few really great gemstone and fossil shops, and they happened to have some whale fossils, and it just reminded me how much I really love whales. Here's two of my favorite animals, the wolf and the orca. Orcas are often called "wolves of the sea", so I thought it fitting to put them together.

This month's print takes some inspiration from traditional Haida artwork, which is something that has inspired me long before I knew where it came from or what it was called. I tried to avoid using any particular symbols or patterns since I'm not part of the culture, but the color palette is heavily inspired. The print is reversible, so you can put either the wolf or the orca on top depending on which you prefer.

I really like the concept you got going here, I haven't thought about killer whales being a parallel~

Thanks! I can't take full credit for the concept, I was very inspired by Haida mythology. They have two creatures that involve this parallel, the Wasgo (which is a seamonster with the body of an orca and the head of a wolf) and the Ahklut (which is wolf that shapeshifts into an orca when it goes into the water).
