Khadim lapped at the water, thirst concentrated on his mind.
The hiss was his only warning.
Khadim jumped back as the water flew and jaws shut missing him by inches and moments.
As soon as his paws hit the water again he flung himself back to shore and nearly a foot back. His eyes fell to the crocodile as it hissed staring back at him.
