Let's just hope these kids are primarily Metroid/Saurian and not what Samus is comprised of (Chozo, Metroid and Parasite X DNA, giving her powers that were ultimately scrapped for the games). The Chozo's enhanced strength and Parasite X's durability, which she kept, and the Metroid's ability to syphon energy which was scrapped. It was going to explain why and how she could have all those different energy weapons, by syphoning the energy from the bosses that had those weapons and using it herself, but that was turned into a function of the suit via weapon upgrades. I guess they felt it would make her too OP. It wasn't clear whether she was ever going to have the Metroid's weakness to cold, though.
