Nuummite had once worked for the Homeworld gems. She had a minor part in the war against the Crystal Gems. By order of Yellow Diamond, Nuummite's partner was to be destroyed. After seeing her partner stabbed through the gem, by a Homeworld gem, she sided with the Crystal Gems temporarily.

After the war was over, and the remaining Homeworld gems fled, Nuummite stood near her partner's gem, tears streaming down her face. Rose Quartz walks over, sensing Nuummite's distress.

She sees the cracked gem in front of the dark gem and tries to heal the crack to no avail. Rose bubbles the gem and makes a promise to Nuummite that she will try and find a way to save her.
