A smoker "skeleton" structure.

Their blood is, basically, boiling water. In order to move, a smoker pushes water inside its bones, making them rigid and able to move / sustain themselves. Without water inside them, a smok's bone is as floppy as a calciumless mammal bone.
It would be easier to call their skeleton an exoesqueleton, counting how their organs and muscles are /inside/ their bones: Inside each bone there are muscles responsible for water flow, and a very soft bone texture covers their whole organ sack. Above their skeleton there is a layer of fat, made to preserve their boiling body temperature. Above the layer of fat, there are muscle-like structures that not only preserve their body temperature but also auxiliate on movement. Above this there is another layer of fat - this one works like real fat, accumulating and such. On the top everything there is skin and feathers, that are a bit warmer than ambient temperature.

Joining all of this, you have an extremely soft critter who is forever warm, but also a thing that moves via boners.
