How to End A War (...And Ruin a Set)

XennyDiemes

Universe Version

Running an ever-expanding empire like the Romans are doing, does not come easy. Especially when there are enemies and challengers who would dare come in and wipe it out. Destroying everything the emperors have worked hard for since. One of them is a horde of over five thousand coming from the East ready to attack the eastern frontier of the Empire, swearing to kill everyone in their path towards the capitol. As they approach the frontier, their motion has stopped in the presence of a strange figure.

She is not human, wearing nothing but her armor and traditional centurion garb made for a figure of great mass and strength. Tail swaying aggressively and her muscles bulging under the armor and leather. Armed only with her sword, she roars to freeze them in their path and yells at the top of her lungs:

"You dare challenge the might of the empire?! You fools have already sealed your fate, but I will give you a chance to retreat. Charge, and die."

The five thousand strong army made their choice and charge at full speed. The beast in kind, runs in their direction at a speed, unnatural for someone her size and just meters to the brink, leaps high into the air in front view of the sun. Their commanders ordered to fire their arrows despite unable to see until it was too late. The lioness feels the fast arrows and thrown spears as if they were raindrops while she descends and slices into her first victim. Instantly the horror of the creature up close and soaked in the blood of that fallen soldier sees that this is a Leiosian and with a expression of pure bloodlust. She kept her word.

In just an hour, she successfully destroyed a third of army, the rest ether slipped through to be cut down by Imperial solders while the rest ran in fear of the beast who didn't stop for breath as she brutally killed each and every one of their mightiest men. It finally ended with her walking up to the leader of the army and crushing his skull in her hands. With a booming victory roar, Nemeana declares her victory doing what would take an army itself to do what she did.

Movie Version

Launa is on set of the war attack scene and it wasn't an easy task finding at least a hundred and fifty extras to play the soldiers in the scene. Launa has to work double time to learn to techniques of fighting in the Centurions and add her super-soldier style spin on it because in her life, she learned more fighting as a Viking than a Centurion and has lived her life as a subject of the Holy Roman Empire than the actual Roman Empire.

With everything set the attack scene ready, the director calls it and Launa springs into action, what followed what could be the largest on-set disasters ever; because there's a difference between being in character and being too much into character. Who would have thought that you can injure someone with a realistic plastic sword.

And yes, that made the cut into the final film though the director and the editor continuously have to cringe every time they have to move around a scene in which Launa actually bashed heads, broke a few bones, send a few people into a coma and even one she threw a fat guy in the side of a catering truck.

I really like how this came out especially how the pose presents itself, how the muscles came out and the angle of attack the subject shows. The real winner is the hair style with the militaristic front and the long hair in the back. Overall, it shows the real savagery of Nemeana's early days. Hard to imagine she started off as a lowly servant/slave for the imperial court before a incident with a annoying and self-aggrandizing servant changed her life forever.
