Icarus slept soundly on his bed, next to the couch in the living room, it was midday and just about time for his owner to return home from work. He was doing what he always did, sleep before his owner returned home because when his owner returned from work they spent hours playing, training and going for walks. And he slept deep so it wasn't until the car door slammed shut and the keys were in the door did Icarus stir from his slumber. His owner opened the front door, calling out to Icarus and he was up like a bolt, skittering across the hardwood floor, nails clacking as he tried to not slip on the smooth surface. He wiggle ran right up to his owner, whining happily and flopping down to a wiggling sit at his owner's feet, tail smacking hard against the floor, his ears pinned back as far as he could with their cropped nature. His owner kneeled down to accept the firm kisses Icarus gave his jaw as his spotted tongue rasped against his owner's stubbled face. Eventually he was told enough and his owner stood, scritching his ears and walked to the back slider door to tug it open for Icarus, despite the fact he had a doggie door.

Icarus sprinted into the backyard, sniffing around and doing his business, given he'd just woken up he needed to go. He ran around the yard a bit until his owner, Kai, joined him in the backyard with a few tennis balls, which made Icarus nearly lose his mind in utter joy. They played fetch until Icarus was panting hard, laying on the grass with his big back legs stretched behind him. They returned indoors to rest for a little while, Icarus getting water all over the kitchen tile from his jowls as he drank from his bowl. Kai sat at the kitchen table, munching on an apple, tossing a few pieces to Icarus to gobble up.

Soon enough Kai went to fetch Icarus' things for their timely walk, his tags on his collar tinkling as they were carried over to him. Icarus sat as he was told and his collar was slipped over his head and then he stood for his harness to be strapped on and the leash to be clipped to his harness, a quick stop by the fridge for a bottle of water and the pair were out the front door to their stroll around the block. By the time they returned it was dinner time and Kai prepared Icarus' raw food first and placed it down and let Icarus eat once he'd run through a sit, down, stay. While Icarus gobbled up his delicious food Kai prepared his own dinner and while he sat down to eat it he opened the slider door again and let Icarus, taking out a large femur bone that still had bits of meat on it from the freezer and gave it to Icarus to chew on outside.

Icarus sloppily carried it out to the grass and put a paw on it to stabilize it before going to town. He gnawed on it well after Kai had finished his dinner and showered. The slider door was open so Icarus could have come in whenever he wanted but he was too focused on his bone and it wasn't until Kai called for him to come did he stop chewing, bringing the bone with him up to the porch, dropping it by the door before padding into the house. He stretched and yawned, wagging his tail as Kai scratched his rump while he stretched his front legs out in the downward dog position. It wasn't long before it was time for bed and the two headed upstairs, his owner disappearing to the bathroom to prepare for bed while Icarus padded into his owners room, waiting for Kai to get into bed and under the blankets before he hopped up himself, finding a spot and circling a few times before flopping down onto the bed. Kai stayed up for a little while but before long the lamp on the night stand was turned off and they were both asleep.

I wasn't gonna do story time BUT THEN I DID? idk it just came to me. Enjoy a snippit of Icky's life haha. He's a spoiled boy. and now that i wrote all that i don't have much to say down here uhhhh i actually really enjoy how this came out, there was a lot of procrastination on that grass let me tell you. a lot. hahha but its done.
