Fidonhaal is a world that is home to a race of creatures known as the Fidons, whose name in their tongue translates to "Faithful One(s)" or "One(s) of Faith." From our perspective, we would describe them as appearing to be anthropomorphic wolves or similar canine-like creatures.
This world has a deep history of good and evil, where both the light and darkness of mortals as well as the powers of the divine and unholy have struggled against one another for millennia.

At the time of the novel "Daughters of the East," each of the four major landmasses had consolidated all prior realms into single, continent-spanning nations just over a millennium ago. Now referred to as the Four Nations, these domains exercise both individual autonomy and efforts of cooperation with one another. Each of the Four Nations have their own capital from which their royalty leads, with Enmayar's capital being Genverdell, Janrenar's being Benhotha, Kellmayar's being Zefiil, and Sorrenar's being Norkoth.
The four sizeable archipelagos scattered across the world are known as the Shattered Isles, with one archipelago being affiliated with each of the Four Nations. These were once whole islands, but where broken in a great cataclysm during a time of great evil.
The island at the heart of the world, Karzynhaal, is the Fidons' isle of origin. It is here where the first sentient Fidons awoke, communed with their God, Onu, and in time departed to journey across Fidonhaal and settle it. Though they are not forbidden to return to this island, most Fidons only come to dwell there for a brief time as a pilgrimage.
