A pair of characters that were gifted to me by Radiantwingeddragon! He came up with the concepts and gave me a lot of artistic freedom with their designs, so I went a little wild xD I was finally able to draw them up when we hung out earlier this month, and this is the result! Consider them a bit of a collaboration between the two of us. I've included a synopsis he wrote up of them as well, with a few tweaks from yours truly.

These two poor young siblings were orphaned at a very young age after both their parents had been killed amidst a tragic "accident." Artemis couldn't even remember what their parents looked like, and Vulcanus only retained the faintest of memories. For most of their life growing up, Vulcan had to raise and care for Arti until she was able to hunt some food and care for herself. As young adolescents they stuck together through the harshest of times, whether being caught in the crossfire of war, struggling with starvation or dehydration, or even attempted murder simply out of racism for just being dragons. The two children had nowhere to go, no family besides themselves, and when all seemed lost - as if by some kind of magic force - an interdimensional portal opened in front of the two. Too shocked to know what to do the pair froze in fear, and immediately a voice reached out to them that said, "If you wish to live a much happier life than you both have now, you must hurry through this gateway!" While Vulcan was skeptical, the siblings had no desire to live on this planet, certainly not any longer. They gathered up what little belongings they had and went into the portal to see what awaited on the other end.

Much to their surprise, they emerged onto a gorgeous planet filled to the brim with friendly and peace loving dragons. The portal was an extended invitation for the two to begin a new chapter of their life. The ruling monarch of this planet (named Ninevah) was holding a huge party for friendly faces from different parts of the universe, and the dragon siblings were on the VIP list. Vulcan was concerned with how these people knew them, as they typically kept to themselves. However, after meeting folks from off this planet, as well as the locals and the ruling monarch family, it was revealed that one of the dragons named Tychis possessed a supply of infinite knowledge and kept tabs on every existing dragon in the known universe. He could not stand to see these two suffer on their planet any longer and wanted to do something to help them. The monarch Ninevah revealed that he was the younger brother to Tychis, and they had held this party specifically for Artemis and Vulcanus. This caused Artemis to break down in tears on the ground while Vulcan was completely shocked - for the first time in his life, he felt like God was watching out for the two of them. Not only that, but, in coming to this party, the siblings met a very nice Dutch Angel Dragon by the name of Nova who had a distinctively motherly personality. Over the course of the gathering she had taken a huge interest in the pair and by the end, offerred to adopt the two as her own children. This movement alone had completely broken Vulcanus who, while normally very stoic, was now crying his eyes out. He threw his arms around Nova and calmly said, "I love you mom"
