While there are many different factions in the story for my project, I try to make sure each one has a clear-cut leader. To that end, each of the factions' leaders have their own theme, separate from the faction's theme.

In no case is the leader of a faction as clear as the faction of the Mad Goddess, Lamenth. Lamenth, the Sea Goddess rains down terror on the villages of those devout to any other religion than her own.

For well over a hundred years, Lamenth was inactive, and many thought her to be dead. Where she has been, and why, only those acolytes closest to her know. Why she came back, no one is entirely sure either, but one thing is clear: she wants to destroy every church or temple she comes across. She deems all of those other deities false. There may be some validity to that, though... She seems to heavily favor the churches of the so-called 'false sea-God' Syrrko, who many worshiped in her stead.

The villains in the story can be rather complex, and Lamenth is no exception. While she does horrific things to those who worship false Gods, those that come into her school (what she calls her followers, as they are like fish) are taken care of very well, and given very comfortable, safe lives on her island. She has a particular affinity for sailors and musicians (as she is also the Goddess of music.) There is also the fact that many ancient texts actually back up her claims that a few of the other Gods are false deities. ... That said, this is far from common knowledge, as the majority of Elancians simply go by what they are told by whichever church they worship, or whichever government/kingdom owns their land.

She shows up very suddenly, and very late in the story, but as you can tell from her theme, here -- which is actually an alternate arrangement of Transformation -LINK- -- she's very important all along. After all, Transformation is the song that ends each credits theme from earlier in the game!
