Rise from the Dust by Woofle

Rise from the Dust

Woofle

This tune plays in the capital of the country of Contaplia on the Follin Continent, first visited in Season 4 of Elancia Chronicles: Order of New Gods.

The city, (right beside the Dust Highway ) known as Rise, was originally a large, elven fortress built on an island in the middle of a massive lake. This fortress was originally a southern stronghold of the elven empire hundreds and hundreds of years ago. Of course, this fortress was sacked and destroyed during the war between the Gnollish Empire and the Sarralynese Empire. The inhabitants of the fortress mostly fled, but the oppressed people under rule of the elves moved in and took over the fortress after the warring armies left. It took several long years, but a new empire arose from the ashes of the one left behind. The heart of it, the former island-fortress became known as Rise, and became the capital of what eventually became the country of Contaplia.

Hundreds of years later, as steam power, gun powder, and magic rule the lands, Contaplia is one of the few countries on its continent which embraces religious freedom and the vicarious peace it provides. It is also a great place to score ancient elven technology if you're into that. :V

A very ... eclectic song, to be sure. Is it disco? Is it country? Some homages to Sonic CD (JP/EU) in here, too!

    Beginning promises awesomeness...
Mild disappointment in ~22, I expected explosion
Ok, explosion happened a bit later lol
    Cool gutar sound at ~45
and change of flow at ~1:10, woofle trade mark
    ~2:04 awesome guitar
~2:35 naissness and a bit later cool guitar sound again !
    ~3:35 more awesome guitar !
    ~5:00 niceness once again
...and it ended. I hoped to hear those drums right before end more prominently throughout the tune.

Yes I do listen all the music, no skimming through ! I sadly did that on FA and missed out so much... I saw Elancia / Saga in title and then looked for somthing else... bangs head against wall

It's what's known in 'the industry' as a "Ex-SLOW-sion" and it's something I utilize often -- mostly because players are stuck listening to the music when they enter a town, anyway.
The break 1'10-ish was my favorite part of this song, which, unsurprisingly is also ancient a -hell-. I first did this one in 2003! D: I actually used the original MIDI for this one for some reason that I cannot figure out. Fortunately, electric guitar fixes everything!

As for the SAGA/Elancia thing, I actually lost a lot of watchers when I started working on it in 2009, and a lot of people just went ahead and skipped it (and thus, literally 95% of my music. XD!) I'm just glad you were willing to give it a second try!

I am really amazed it took me so long to "watch" you on FA, and if I hadn't I would not have got to experience all the greatness I have in past couple days. I got well over a Gbyte of files of your music, all of which will get plenty of play time <3

Well, the trick with musicians is the fact that our artwork can't be seen/digested in 15, or even 30 seconds. It takes minutes, hours, even days for someone to get appreciation of a musician. The fact that we're on websites mostly focused on artwork (and let's face it, pornography) means that a lot of people aren't looking for us. xD
I totally got wayyyy off subject there. XD But you get me! Point being, I'm very glad you watched me!! :D

Yes, you are so right. And I also seem to get the feeling that besides porn, the people who are indeed looking for music want some kind of oomph ooomph stuff that 99% of the music submissions seem to be... Your "not techno" icons in the gallery really caught my attention as I honestly wasn't expecting anything beyond that oomph oomph LOL

Yeah, that seems to be what most gravitate to. That, or videogame remixes. I think it's just the type of scene they're into, which is fine, but it means that people who do things outside of that narrow scope won't get much exposure. xD

That was why I ended up making the icons, actually. XD!! Like, EVERYTHING I heard was techno, so it was nice to kind of put up something everyone could see that basically said 'hey, I'm not making techno here. This is different! Check it out!'

And I guess it filtered out the "I wanted oomph ooomph this sux !" comments too

                  Yeap!! XD Indeed!
