I love this! It's so epic

Ooooh... Not only do I love the coloring, but the markings? They're so smoothly shaded into one another, and you didn't lose any bit of the anatomy of the creature despite the dark coloring and shading. :D Soo freaking cool, and I've been trying to get that same look in my SAI backgrounds and just can't get them to be obedient... -facepalm- Best I can do are faded, more abstract backgrounds. <:3

Thank you very much! I really do appreciate all the detail you noticed in the piece <33 Hmm...I'm not sure what I did wiht the background (cause I kinda get lost in the moment hurrz) but I think I used the water blend tool, and used various layers from Normal, to Multiply, to Screen (to get the glow effect) :)

More than welcome, and I try to notice all that I can so you have more than the, "It's pretty!" comment. >w< Don't know about you, but while they're sweet and encouraging it'd be nice if there was more to them. :)
That's a good thing, getting lost in the moment, and I've only done that a few times. Although, granted, when I did I discovered a new way for me to shade and it came out really nice. XD Multiply and screen layers...! I've tried working with them and getting the layers to work, but since I treat my drawings like a coloring book, I use at most six layers and try to have the glow layers on top and accent the coloring and shading beneath- most likely why they don't like me. XD

I know what you mean, they are nice and keep motivation flaring but it's a bonus if you get a detailed comment either a critique or someone noticing all the hard work you put into the piece <3 It took me a while to get used to the different modes of layering, and I always ended up with a ton of layers. Recently, I've been trying to keep layers low as possible and only use the different modes if I really need it or if I'm cell-shading. It's mainly a bunch of trial and error, experimenting, reading lots of tutorials and speedpaints.

Yup, yup, although with the speedpaints and tutorials I can't help but feel like my art's crap and I start focusing more on the "what" than the "how" and then don't want to draw for a while... XD If it isn't instructional too, I don't really learn anything and just find my self-esteem starting to plummet. XD
Either way though, awesome work, and I'll try to leave as many in-depth comments as I possibly can~ :D
