Needed an excuse to draw Red, needed to work on expressions, needed motivation to draw at all. Wanted to be true to both her and her fursona as she originally designed. So I used a combination of her refsheet and whatever irl pics I had. I know the horns are going all over the place, but they do in the original ref too and most other artist's examples portray her completely different than that so I don't even know if that's what she'd have wanted, like her own idea might have been evolving over time. Unfortunately I can't know for sure. But going with the original design and doing the best I can to make it look like her and stay consistent with that is what feels right. I'm glad she gave me a challenge and glad to take it on though.
