Wanting to continue my loose, landscape watercolor practice, I decided to paint a scene from my mind. A place I've been to many times in my imagination, but doesn't exist in real life. I think the painting came out very close. Lots of soft grass, mossy rocks, and big trees...and a peaceful stream running through it.

It's good therapy when you feel trapped all the time in a place you don't belong, where instead of trees you're surrounded by buildings, to close your eyes and imagine yourself in a better place.

Watercolor on cold-press paper, about 7.5 X 9 inches

This is gorgeous. It really conveys a sense of peace and contentment. You are very lucky to have such a place you can visit, even if it isn't on the physical realm. :)

Love this! I need to do some more landscape studies. Important things that I need to remember to make time for!

I've been trying to make time for more studies, too! Too often I just jump into making 'finished' art without practicing.

*grinz* I always do little studies before a big piece, but I need to do larger ones! And more just of one subject or another to learn
