My Mind to Your Mind

The robot surgeon's program wasn't intended to transfer input as complex as a full human body's sensory input, merely some minor, specific feedback to allow the doctor to have more information about the tiny procedures they were controlling. It took months of work, but at long last Miyuki finally expanded it to allow someone to experience everything another person felt. It was finished not a moment too soon. She knew she only had a few weeks left before she gave birth.

Miyuki tried to get her wife to relax, however Akira could feel nothing but anxiety at what she was about to go through. This was something she'd been excited about since she first heard Miyuki was trying to put this together for her, but now that the moment was here it frightened her, to be confronted with something so visceral. Her awareness was shunted aside, suddenly feeling much warmer, and her back hurting severely. She felt a moment of vertigo as limbs moved without her command, sensing her hands come to rest on the large, heavy mound that filled her lap. Her pulse quickened, thought her heart would burst from the anticipation as she knew what was coming but couldn't begin to guess what it would be like. Those hands, familiar yet not hers, rubbed at the taut hide. There it was, the sudden jab of a tiny elbow trying to push away the unwelcome heat. It rolled, trying to get away from the paws that were following it. Some part of her, habits ground into her, tried to suppress the reaction, pretend it was nothing, just another experience to file away. Her heart would have none of it. As Akira felt her babies move within her, as real as her wife felt it, she wept.
