Born on the cold planet of Fellorian, sister planet of Canidera, Yukiomaru's parents always knew that their little arctic fox was special because unlike other arctic foxes, his fur was pure white, even in his shortest coats. His unusual fur was not the only reason why he was named Yuki, but also because of the kit's love for playing in the snow. Before Yukiomaru was even a toddler, his advanced intellectual mind was recognized by the the highest members of the aristocratic families. A lot of time and resources were invested in training the fox, so the families had high expectations of the results.

Yukiomaru surpassed those expectations by overcoming every challenge that was thrown at him, many of which were thought to have been impossible. Dr. Rea, head researcher and developer of an orphan training program for the military, had to come up with many new tests to stack the odds against the fox. Years later, after failing at very few of the "impossible" tests, and pressure for research into a possible alien contact, Yukiomaru was entrusted with a prototype warship called Drach'n Fury that was installed with a prototype artificial intelligence.

During his first expedition out beyond the Black Line (a series of black holes that hides most of the galaxy from the Huli star system), Yukiomaru found more than what anyone had expected in the first few months of the trip. Now their entire civilization is fighting for survival, and Yukiomaru is the last hope of Canidera.
