Some people are naturally lucky. Fortune smiles upon them and they live blessed lives from the day they are born until the day they die, at a ripe old age.

Saa Azeikan is not one of those people.

Damned at birth with a handful of abnormalities, the poor girl loathes her own image; two eyes of different colors and a third one between them, upon her forehead, for all to see. Most damning of all, though, is an unheard of disease that has left her skin painfully harmed by bright light and vaguely translucent when under the sun.

Naturally, she is quite adverse to any sort of exposure, even her eyes unable to withstand the glare of the sun without considerable discomfort.

In keeping with the unimaginable misfortune that surrounds this glass mantis, she was borne unto a land continuously baked by a searing, unforgiving sun. The desert is no place for her, and yet it is the only home she knows.

Her abnormalities bring to her an unending amount of unwanted, scornful attention and ridicule.

Her father, her mother never spoke of, and though Saa yearned to ask, she never had the chance, for her mother abandoned her at an early age. Her own flesh and blood had grown tired of the trouble that Saa brought to them, thanks to her differences.

Day after day, the desert sand into which her mother vanished eats away at her resolve, eroding her will the same as it does even the hardiest of stones.

She quests to have her only wish fulfilled: to be normal.

Additionally, there is another type of unwanted notice thrust upon her: That of desire from those who would seek out the unusual or the helpless. Such encounters are what led to the loss of her lower-right arm.
