I'm not sure. All I learned from looking up the name I used was that there are WAY TOO MANY SPECIES OF OPOSSUM

Most opossums (as drawn) are of the D. virginiana variety. Most often found in the U.S.A. east of the Mississippi River and south from Arkansas and eastern Texas into Central America's Panama. There's a couple unrelated species in Australia, but they don't belong to the Didelphis genus.
