I started drawing this front profile model sheet of Zane and Sobek way back in April 2017, but only now was I able to make myself finish it. Most notably was that I decided to make Zane stocky and slightly taller than Sobek. Zane's such a big boy, compared to his parents, and if Sobek's gonna continue growing bigger and taller, he should have a bunny boyfriend who will keep up with him. It's easy to see how Sobek was easily smitten by Zane. He was big and cuddly, with a love of gaming, tokusatsu, and retro 80s and 90s stuff. The nerdbunny also reminded him of his cousin Butch, with his goatee, sideburns, and long hair in back.

After finishing the base layers for the model sheet, I suddenly felt like drawing these two in 1990's inspired outfits. If you recognize Zane's ensemble, bonus points for you. They're based on the ones that J.D. Roth wore as the host of Gamepro TV back in 1991-92. The show's soooooo painfully 90s; I love it! I always had a soft spot for the hip, radical feeling of video game marketing of the late 80s and early 90s, and watching it on Youtube is quite refreshing. This era was also the golden age of garish dayglo colors and patterns, and it's something that Sobek cherishes proudly, with his visor, windbreaker, and arcade carpeting-patterned sweatpants.
