I had a fantastic day wading in a shallow delta where the water was the same color as shown in this illustration, and the green, grassy banks reflected brightly from the water's surface. I watched mongooses play along the bank. Top that off with some nice conversation with a fellow artist about meerkats and tin cans (among other things). This was the result.
Interesting note: meerkats are a species of mongoose. I had totally forgotten this when I did the drawing, heh.

Thank you, Airu. I am glad you liked this drawing so much. It was certainly inspired by a delightful day. I really like how the blue-green reflected light worked-out, too. I think it emphasizes the water nicely. :3

This is such a delightful little illustration. I love the colors you used, most of all... that splash of the blue/green reflective hues on the meerkat looks so nice, it blends everything in together, of course.
