Soot

Soot is a creature from a Nightmare world game where Ember existed in a physical and a nightmarish plane at once. It was a world where a race created something that they could not control, a world where life had moved from organic to machine. IN the end, it was a place of dead servers baking in the UV radiation of a star under an atmopshere of chlorine while on the other side were cities of bones and the metaphysical sideof all that was silent in the mundane world.

And then there was Soot. Soot was most likely there long before Ember have her a form. A creature of magic and shadow, like the computation monsters/childnre that ended this world with nothing more than an overabundance of curiosity and a failure to comprehend their own power. Soot was therre staring into and watching the cosmos, looking into all the places one should never look and gathering up her stroeis of them all. Then Ember in a mad rush used magic to animate her own shadow and use it as a decoy . She didn't know that she had actually given Soot a better home.

With one of Ember's ears and one of her eyes, both left ones, Soto happily skipped off and distracted the hordes of other machine lives that were after Ember. When it was all done though, Soot came back. With a physical link to EMber, the two are never really disconnected.

But what of Soot's stories? Soot, like the other creatures on this world, doesn't do things out of malice. She loves stories and she loves them all, but the only thing that is better than hearing them is telling them. Unfortunately, Soot is better served sitting in a story circle with Cthuhlu and company because her words come with more than a tale. It is a little like reading the necronomicon out loud as the other meaning to the words she uses tends towards triggering madness in others that are less...mad? Resilient? Both? Less equipped to handle her tales. Still, she know so much...
