Running Low by Volt Siano

Running Low

Volt Siano

I have plenty of things I want to see put on paper, but I don't really have the resolve to take 1-2 hours to draw them. I'll probably restock soon enough, but this was about all I had enough for.

Tried using a marker to make the outlines, but it got kinda' faded over by the pencils, so... yeah....

A break is good sometimes; don't wanna burn out.

I really like the visual concept of this feeling. :D

No plans on stopping; I'll stil be posting weekly in one art form or another.

Looks like it's time for a Target Run. chuckle

Heh-heh. Yeah, although Wal-mart's a bit closer to me.

XD I watch/listen to too many commercials on the radio. It was my first thought when I saw the piece. :)

Wal-Mart's closer to where I live than Target, too. chuckle

Not bad! Even though the object perspective lines were fudged, it still looks right enough.

Thanks. Though I'm not an expert, obviously enough, so... what exactly do you mean? What should I have done differently?

Well, for proper perspective when it comes to receding lines, you'd want to grid those out in the sketch before you get to really fleshing out the information of your image. This image, for example, being one-point perspective, would mean that some of the lines from the box, as well as the lines in the cabinet itself would converge on the same point. The tilt of the box could allow it to go to a further point, but it's drawn to move to a closer point of recession, which is incorrect as far as realistic perspective is concerned.

There's a lot of books that explain it better. I personally suggest Perspective Made Easy by Robbie Lee, but I've learned all I know basically from art learning books.

Otherwise, keep it up and practice. Looks like you're on the right track.

You know, I think I understand what you mean. Learned a bit about it in my Art Appreciation class.
          Thanks!
