handhooves prototype number 1

viruldawg

My first prototype for my handhooves. This was meant to be an excercise in figuring and adjusting, not meant to be a final product.

I want to add a gusset into the hooves so that instead of being flat, each hoof toe is 3 dimensional, and I think that will also require a small fur gusset between the finger segments in order to get the vinyl gusseting to fit into fur palm.

going to make another handhoof tommorow, with a second attempt at making the gusseted toes and the "between the toes gusset." Also going to try using a ball point or univ. needle to see if that is a bit easier on the vinyl; my leather needle i had in seems to butcher it a little too much.

I think my final handhoofs i make will have clopper-type tips over the thumb, with only the two main toes as vinyl.

The fit of these is a bit cramped, but perfectly wearable for me, though I feel that adding the gusseted area will solve the issue, as the snugness is in the hoof caps, not in the palm or wrist.

Made from marine grade vinyl and some locally-available cheap black shorter-pile fur (again... prototype. I have some DF/Luxury shag and some Arctic Fox coming in the mail.)
