That depends upon the origin of the roo you are referring to. Devil Kangaroos are different from Dreamtime Kangaroos, while being similar to Were-Kangaroos. Again, it really depends up the origin source of the roo in question. Among real world kangaroos, only the females have pouches located way down under. The more magical the roo, the more extensive or even Wonderland-like the pouch can obviously be. Falling down the rabbit hole takes on a whole new meaning when the opening is in a male kangaroo.
