About:
Giran was born and raised in Setano Village. He lived together with his father, Frederick, who was a reputable Yian-Garuga rider. Giran was trained from a young age by his father to become a rider and follow in his footsteps. However, Fredericks teaching techniques were rather unorthodox and did not work well for Giran. This, combined with the facts that Giran did not wanted the hammer to become his main weapon, and that he did not wanted a Yian-Garuga as his first monstie, led to a lot of friction between father and son.

When Giran turned 18, he did not became a rider, but instead left the village to set out on a journy alone. This decision led to a huge fight between him and Frederick on the last night that he spent in Setano Village. Giran left the village with the fight still unresolved and traveled towards the New World, where he settled in a small settlers village named Osar near the Hoarfrost Reach. He first became a gatherer, gathering bones and ores in the Hearfrost Reach. Later he managed to become the Village's hunter, making sure that small monsters and large monster that he could handle did not threaten the village. He would often tell the inhabitants about the place he came from, and the legendary riders of the past and present. He often included tales about his father and his trustworty companion Yiran.

During his stay in Osar Giran encountered the same Beotodus multiple times. The beotodus often wandered near the village. Giran would capture it to set it out further away in the Hoarfrost Reach, only for it to come back a couple months later. After five years, the beotodus became so acquainted with Giran, that he was able to get the Beotodus away from the village by simply walking alongside it, instead of needing to capture it. With the pieces that Giran gained from the captures, and from the materials that the Beotodus would sometimes drop while walking, he was able to make his current armor set and weapon. Because of this Beotodus, Giran slowly but surely felt the wish to become a rider growing stronger within his heart.

Seven years after Giran had left Setano Village, he was asked by three hunters from the guild to be their guide and fourth hunter in their party to track down a Fulgur Anjanath in the Hoarfrost Reach and capture it. Giran agreed but when he returned four weeks later, terrible news awaited him.

While Giran was away the Beotodus once again came close to the village. With their village hunter gone, the village elder paid a poacher to take care of the beast. The poacher had slain the beotodus for his reward and was already gone when Giran returned in Osar. Giran was furious and confused at the village elder. He confronted him and wanted to know why they did not wait for him to come back. He wanted to know why they had to kill his friend while he has not been a threat to anyone, only a nuisance sometimes. The vilage elder responded that one simply cannot be friends with monsters. That while he enjoyed the stories that Giran told about all those riders, that he cannot let those fairy tales cloud his judgement when he needs to make decisions for his village.

Giran was completely flabbergasted by this response. He could not comprehend at first what was said to him. Only after a minute, while the elder was speaking words that he did not hear, did it dawn on him. During his stay here, the people did not believe a single story he told. All the stories about his village, his culture, and the people and monsters he looked up to were seen as fiction here.

A furious rant came from Giran. He kicked the elder out of his house, telling him that Osar would no longer have a village hunter. Having closed the door, he tore off the village insigna from his clothes and shield. He made the decision to return to Setano and become a rider. To return home. To return to his family. To return to Yiran. To return to his dad who he has not written in all those years.

When he was done packing his stuff for the road home the next day, he checked his letter box one more time. Only to be faced with more devastating news. A letter was in the mail from Setano Village. Inside was the news that his father has perished on a quest, and that Yiran was missing. The road home was filled with tears and regret. During this journey he crudely painted a new insignia on his clothes and shield.

Many people in Setano Village believed that Giran returned home because of his father's death, and that he became a rider to keep his father's lecacy alive or out of regret. However the true reason why Giran became a rider was because he uttlery loved the bond he was able to make with the Beotodus and wanted to experience something like that on a much deeper level.
