The Pariah squad

Vampirika

The crew of the Pariah (featuring in my story Pariah, of which Frost is the main character), one of the mercenary ships under the employ of Ultimatum, a high-profile prison/bounty organization that runs one of the galaxy's major prison stations and enjoys hiring clanless/Bad-Blood yautja because let's face it, they are the best at hunting those who need to be hunted.  Not pictured is their "wrangler", a Mizziki alien nicknamed Three-Eyes.

Twist is the oldest of the pack, once a respected Hunter but exiled from his clan after he killed one of his kin in cold blood, at least as far as the story goes.  He maintains it was a misunderstanding, but nevertheless has accepted his exile and does his best to bring at least some sense of honor to his distinctly less-honorable current profession.

Za'karh-na and Tozu'ka are brothers, who left their clan voluntarily to explore and hunt on their own terms, neither of them satisfied with the Hunters' Code they were raised with.  They are young and impetuous, and unfortunately the atmosphere amongst those hunting for Ultimatum doesn't do much to dissuade their aggressive and brash natures.

Gor-ukh'zin or "Gore" as he likes to be called, is the self-proclaimed Alpha of the Pariah crew.  He is big and bold and cruel, and unashamedly a Bad-Blood at heart.  He is merciless on the Hunt, and will kill anything that gets in his way.  Or even just happens to come into view when the mood strikes.  The young brothers on the crew idolize him, despite his indifference (at best) to them.  He and Twist constantly argue, as Twist tries to temper Gore's unchecked aggression to little effect.  He also develops a serious fixation on T'chendris-hlau.

Ru'kainh-leth is perhaps the mildest-mannered of the crew.  Only clanless by birth, his mother was a Bad-Blood for unknown reasons, and though he basically grew up with Ultimatum looming, as she joined them when he was young, she raised him with a solid sense of honor regardless, not wanting him to turn out like some of the less-scrupulous hunters in the business.

T'chendris-hlau or "Frost" is the odd woman out, as it were.  She's the youngest of the crew, basically adopted as an adolescent by Three-Eyes after the death of her parents, her father having been a good friend and longtime "employee" of the Pariah.  By the time she's an adult she's already proven a deadly and efficient Hunter, her psychokinetic abilities--a mutation inherited from her father--a valuable and dangerous asset.  Much to Gore's dismay, her affections are eventually won by Ru'kainh-leth.  And while she is disillusioned by the Code her mother tried to impart on her, and which Twist tried to follow up on when she was brought into the crew, she still holds to a strict sense of decency when it comes to the Hunt.
