Oh look, yet another Kirlia OC because I just really like drawing Kirlia. :P

This one I at least tried to come up with a BIT of a "backstory" of sorts for. For one reason or another she had found herself homeless and sleeping on park benches (maybe ran away from an abusive household, maybe an orphan, maybe just got really down on her luck.) In any case, one day while going for a walk in the park, none other than former Princess of Hyrim, Amelia Amethyst the Riolu, notices this kirlia sitting on a part bench wearing a tattered rag-dress looking rather glum. Amelia, being the kind sort, sat down beside her and asked what was up. When the Kirlia explained she'd been living on park benches and eating scraps for years Amelia immediately went into full charity-mode and offered to take the destitute Kirlia back to her place for a warm meal, a hot shower and even a change of clothes. The Kirlia, having not seen such altruism in a looong time was hesitant at first, but the offer was too good to refuse so she accepted.

What was supposed to be one night turned into several, and after a whole week had gone by Amelia and the Kirlia had already become good friends (Amelia having been cast out of her own kingdom after a revolution helped give her a unique perspective on how rough it can be to lose almost everything and have to start fresh), so Amelia did something she hadn't done since she was a Princess all those years ago...she offered the Kirlia a job.

Amelia noticed that since the Kirlia had moved in her house (which was typically very cluttered and not-well dusted due to her own inexperience with doing her own chores) was suddenly a lot tidier and more befitting of a home owned by aristocracy, it was clear the Kirlia had been cleaning either out of generosity or impulse, perhaps both, from day one.That and the Kirlia's preference for ruffly frills when given the choice at clothing stores made her the perfect fit for just the type of job Amelia needed filled; a house maid.

So when Amelia offered the Kirlia the position and presented her with her "uniform, the Kirlia was only too elated and eager to accept. It helped that not only had the become basically room-mates already but the knowledge that Amelia was once royalty made the Kirlia feel honored to be in her company. After a quick make-over and a few documents signed, it was official. The Kirlia was now Amelia's handmaiden. There was only one problem...in order for the contract to be legally recognized the Kirlia needed a name.

After some back-and-forth, the name "Goldie" was decided on because of the Kirlia's uniquely gold-sh head-lobes and bright golden eyes. She even started stylizing her hair with gold highlights because of how much she liked the look.

(I really need to commit to doing more with characters I come up with on a whim, so hopefully I'll find the motivation [or get commissioned to] draw some of my one-off OCs more often.)
