Dr. Theia the Mesprit Therapist Reviewing Notes by Unownace

Dr. Theia the Mesprit Therapist Reviewing Notes

Unownace

I've been thinking about creating a "therapist/psychologist/psychiatrist/councilor" character for a while now, and decided on making it a Mesprit (what with it being the "embodiment of Emotion" and all.) Despite being a Mythical and therefore technically genderless, she identifies as female (as did the one from the Mystery Dungeon: Explorers games.)

She's sort-of the "sister" of another OC of mine, "Mr. Sweater" the Uxie (seen here: https://www.weasyl.com/~unownace/submissions/1903834/mr-sweater-the-uxie https://www.furaffinity.net/view/29554541/) and like that character is typically very reserved, calm and analytical with her approach to her work. She likes to dress "intellectual" mostly to portray the image of being intelligent, rational and professional to her patients and the general public; which she is. She wears glasses only as part of that ensemble; they're not prescription.

She mostly deals with what one might call "average people" patients; Pokémon suffering from depression, grief, relationship struggles, unhealthy habits, self-doubt and sometimes narcissism. Basically anyone can make an appointment and just vent to her and she'll offer solutions or support. She holds strong to the idea that mental health is just another kind of health and that most people need therapy at some point in their lives. She despises the stigmas surrounding mental health and how it's portrayed in media, especially crime dramas (particularly the stereotype of "crazy ax murderer." In reality people with mental illness are several time more likely to be the victims of violent crime rather than the perpetrators.)

It's very rare she deals with violent patients, hence why she appears so disgruntled with the patient she's currently reading up in. If you look closely at the note on her desk you MIGHT be able to pick out who it is, though you may need to zoom in and flip the image upside-down.
