Flyn the Riolu Urchin/Thief on the Run (Commission) by Unownace

Flyn the Riolu Urchin/Thief on the Run (Commission)

Unownace

A commission for Blackfox522 of his Riolu con artist/vagabond/pickpocket OC, Flyn, having gotten himself backed into a literal corner after his latest gig. Seems the cold, snowy, rugged terrain of Hyrim was further out of his comfort zone than he expected and now his shivers of fear and frost are getting the better of him. It's too late for "cold feet" now though as the Hyrim guards are closing in, and the tracks he leaves in the snow leave him with nowhere to hide. Justice is a cold paw indeed, and it won't be long before Flyn's at the end of his rope. >;3

(I'm not sorry for the puns. :3)

First, if this were real, I'd do anything I could to help him!

You could try to help him, but you risk getting caught as an accomplice. >;3

I would gladly help him, no matter the cost.

    • Link

Even if that cost is winding up at the gallows alongside him? >;3

Truthfully, yes. If possible, I'd either try to talk my way out of us going to the gallows, but would take full and complete responsibility, acting as if I was either: A) his father and BS my way out of it (I hate lying but would gladly do it to help someone truly in need.) or B) forcing him to do it (no matter how much it broke my heart to even act like I'd hurt him.) So worst worst-case scenario: We end up on the gallows. 2nd best worst-case scenario: I end up on the gallows, but he is free to live. Best worst-case scenario: I end up in prison and he is free. Best-case scenario: We go free and I can care for him, helping him along the right path, being his parental figure, teaching him well.
So: Yes, even if I swing for it. For what is a life if you can't make at least one person's better?

Yeaaaaaah how's that plan gonna work out with thick tight leather muzzles over both your snouts? Because in Hyrim it's standard practice to shut prisoners up the moment their caught right up until sentence is carried out.

Edit: acting as if I was his father/mother.
I forgot to add the /mother.

I'd run up, screaming for them to leave my son be. Break-down crying, wails of sorrow, pleading for my "son's" life, how we go days starving, only the water of the river to slake our thirst. How he is my only child left after bandits took the lives of my spouse and his older brother and baby sister, how I almost escaped with both him and my beautiful daughter but an arrow struck true and stole her life before she'd barely begun it. How I'd almost lost myself to despair but my son is the reason I stayed strong. To cry "Please, I beg, don't take my remaining child from me. I don't want to lose the only reason I have to keep going in this world. He only took because he heard me crying, praying for food so we'd not starve. He'd not have done such a thing otherwise. I've tried to find work, but I constantly get thrown out because I'm from the forest, and the merchants and shopkeeps talk and he is too young to find work."

You'd have to rely on timing and luck then, because while SOME guards might take a moment to hear you out...most of them just got off the backs of a revolution where they gleefully hung hundreds of royal loyalists, some of them younger than Flyn (he's older than he looks BTW). With nothing much to do in terms of entertainment in the snowy mountains of Hyrim and still no stable government having formed yet, it's pretty much a city of crazy sadistic riot mobs who snap at the slightest annoyance. Think Soviet Russia or France right after their respective revolutions.

Honestly, a tactic that might have a bit more chance of success would be to fight your way out. Hyrimers are renowned warriors but they've grown rusty and arrogant after the revolution, meaning with a few smoke bombs and a flying type for air support which Hyrim is severely lacking in you and Flyn might be able to Indiana Jones your way out. Heck, the Hyrim guards might even respect you for it because they love a good chase.

(Somehow, I forgot Pokémon = Pokémon world. How deep does this Buneary hole go? I'm trying to think of a good team [Like the A-Team but with Pokémon] I can rely on in case things go south. It's a lot harder than I thought...)

You must've been building this world for months, years, if not longer! I'd no idea about them. I got sucked into a world (in my head) with this one picture that probably isn't even a thousandth as brilliant as yours.

My word! You certainly are a Master of all Trades, aren't you! The only things I'm good at is being wholesome, caring, gaming (somewhat), and being me. Oh, I used to be an outstanding artist in drawing, writing, painting, and sculpture. But then one day when I was at a friend's birthday party, I was just swimming in the deep end (about 10 feet, if I remember that right), when my brain suddenly decided "Hey, guess what! We're going to forget how to do all that awesome stuff, and learn something new! It's how to PANIC!!!" Cue thoughts of fear, dread, "I'm going to drown!"s, and frantic splashing. Tthankfully, I was saved. But I can barely do anything even a fraction as well as I used to. I still try every day, though.

Yeah, funny part was I was only invited to the friend's birthday party because she told people we were going out. So not only was I in an unknown-to-me relationship, she dumped me because I took attention from her on her birthday! I honestly feel sorry for whoever decides/decided to marry her. She was a Karen-type before I even knew they existed. Last time I saw her cemented that because I was in a Wal-Mart and she was shrieking and cursing this kid out, berating him, calling him a r*****ed field hard R n-word (he was white), and started screaming for a manager. She claimed this employee (he wasn't dressed remotely like one) tried to grope and force himself upon her in an adult way, that he'd started beating her when she told him to stop (She'd no bruises whatsoever. He'd the beginnings of some and a few cuts on his face due to her rings). She tried to have him fired and arrested, but forgot 2 major things against her BS: Cameras and Witnesses. She was, as far as I remember, banned for life from (1/2)

(at least that one) Wal-Mart for life, and arrested. She even assaulted the two officers (backhanding the female one hard across the face and mouth, and kicking the male one right in his personals) I believe she faced many charges that day. Thankfully, though I was ready and willing to, I didn't need to head to court to help the kid/guy (He was 19 at the time of this happening), so I didn't pay any more attention to it. I don't even remember what her name was. My life was weird growing up. (2/2)

Well I hope that person stays behind bars for a very long time.

  • Link

So do I but knowing how the justice system "works" in the U.S., she most likely served little time behind bars, did a couple of years (more likely a year or part of one) of "supervised" probation, and possibly a couple dozen or so hours of community service. If the roles were reversed, i.e. guy assaulting girl, they'd still be in prison.
