Often called the "runt" of the Solar System, this metal-rich planet smaller than some of the Jovian moons had it rough from the start. A surface more heavily battered than our own moon, most of its mantle missing, no atmosphere to speak of, a day 1,5 times as long as its year, with the day-side reaching temperatures higher than most ovens and the night side colder even than objects out past the orbit of Neptune...Mercury isn't exactly a place most of use would be keen on visiting.
