Somehow, after almost a century (much like what happened with Nikolai and Torquil canonically), someone happened across the "tomb" these two had been sealed in and found a way to free them of their curse. Now they see a world that has changed technologically, economically and politically so much that it baffles the mind. Ozani (the green/shiny one) of course shows more visible excitement, being the more extroverted of the two, while Olaf just takes it in stride for the most part.

Yeah I know I didn't draw Olaf's crown, but since during this time his daughter, Luminia, is the official ruling monarch, there's no reason for him to have it anymore, especially since he never really saw himself as a "sovereign" and only took the role out of necessity.
