The entire comic was actually based on THIS one idea, that the gooeymaw eats people whole but like an owl tosses pellets of fur and bone that it can't digest, the gooeymaw horfs up gold coins, giant rubies and any other valuables the person it ate happened to have on their person. That is why I meant to have LoPan wearing his ruby necklace. C'mon, you'd be nuts not to take gold and rubies even if it did come out of a monster's belly. It's gross, but you can always wash your hands. Damn gooeymaws are weird.
