Comish - Never Journey Alone

'You...are not...alone...'

Epic Scene Commission for ReaperBat of FurAffinity featuring Cyclone, the Dutch Angel Dragon, soaring over their desert home!

Hooyah, feels great to work on another big piece after the holidays! Cyclone was a blast - they're actually the first DAD quadsuit made! Super cool to get to work on this guy! Those wings sure gave me a run for my money. So. Many. Feathers! But I absolutely love working on feathered - okay, any type of - wings, so it was a lot of fun shading them. I used a technique I tried in a piece prior to the holidays to show the light shining through the feathers - love that effect! I also feel like my feathers, layering, and wing anatomy in general is getting better. :>

Also, y'all know me, I never turn down the chance to do a desert background. BD I sketched in some ruins...which turned into headstones with ribbons...which turned into power plants...which turned into a Journey (PS3 game) location. I am not sorry one bit. If you look realllly hard, you can see that Cyclone isn't alone...

Check my front page for links to Commission Information and availability.

Thanks a lot, Reaper!

I mostly like how the real beauty of this piece is in the details. for the first few seconds I was thinking to myself "oh this is another desert scene thingy" but when I looked closer I really noticed how much you put into this image. well done.

Thank you! Yah, I love adding little tiny details in big expansive backgrounds like this, from the distant city to the figures running across the dunes. One of my favourite pieces where I did this was on another desert background featuring Muzafr, where I included the headlights from the cars on the road beneath her. -sparkles-

This makes me miss my summer home in Las Vegas, desert and chill sun.

Yah, nothing like the high desert. <3

Very beautiful, the scenery is amazing and the character is beautifully done! I downloaded it just to get a closer look at all the little details, the figures down in the sand and the architecture in the background. Amazingly done!

Thank you! Cyclone was a pleasure to work on, especially those wings!~ <3 And yes, I love adding tiny details into otherwise huge backgrounds like this! Like mini-scenes in the piece itself. :>
