Chancellor Cole is really bad at the whole "pretending you're not secretly a monster from the pits of hell" thing.
Or is he really, really good at it considering no one caught on until that fateful day? It's really hard to say.

Did you know that Spirit Tracks is the first Legend of Zelda game that actually got an animated film? Thanks to some random glitch in the space-time continuum, a studio in the 1980's was adapting the train simulator video game to film before one of the animators realized that they were making a movie of something that would not exist for another thirty years and a rip in the fabric of reality instantly swallowed the entire studio. Managed to find two of the cels though!

In celebration of this game appearing on the Wii U Virtual Console, here's a thing!

I been seeing multiple artists doing the whole "draw a thing like it had an 80's animated film" thing, always wanted to try it just to see if I could, and finally managed to pull it off it seems. The second one in particular came from past traumas of such scenes like "A ray gun..." and "they never come back as boys!".

Plus since this style requires nearly no shading at all, it ended up being a good way to make really quick art as a bit of a "buffer" while I move to my apartment. It's a win-win!

And yes, it's Chancellor Cole again. I just feel that this character would've been absolutely terrifying in an animated film. It's easy to go "oh wow, what a lame villain" despite the fact that he is one of the more competent Zelda villains (the fact that you're literally unable to fight him until he's turned into something slower and easier to hit speaks volumes) when he looks like a blocky leprechaun in all the pixelly glory that the DS can render 3D models, but it's another thing entirely if he's in the same medium that managed to make me afraid of talking air conditioners until I was 13.

Plus I just have too much fun drawing this guy's shark mouth. I try not to bore anyone with my weird little leprechaun obsession by not drawing him super frequently, but I have fun with the guy.

I might do this again sometime with a different video game. I have a couple in mind to be honest.
