So, i finally came up with what I want as my fursona, i hope you all enjoy! A new style for fur Ive been trying, feedback would be great~!

Blah. Forgot to add that overall it looks like the rat is covered with fur, instead of being smooth with a few highlights. Which is always excellent.

Oh! Thanks for the input! And yea, I honestly started off with a smaller, transparent brush, but it didnt come out how I wanted it to(Probably cause I dont have enough experience with fur). I wanted a very matted look on the fur, even though rats in captivity keep well groomed, I liked the messy fur more for this hahaha. This is definitely my first time trying out a new way to paint fur though, if I ever go back to this, Ill try out a smaller brush. ^_^ Definitely brings on the hand cramp! Thats for sure! Thanks again!

Also, nwo that i think about it, if I spent more time on it and went into to add more with a smaller brush after it was all blocked in, it would have come out better. Well, maybe next time then!

It's a really cool take on the fur. I wouldn't necessarily use it for everything, because the brush is thick enough that it makes me think "thick" or "matted", but it shifts and stands out like I would expect fur to. Have you tried thinner brushes? It'd be interesting to see if that ended up with a softer look.
Think it looks great, though, and definitely works for a rat (anti-rattism here! o: ).
